Julia was raised in Atlanta, Georgia where she attended The Lovett School and received her degree in Industrial Engineering from Georgia Tech in 1998. It was while attending Tech that Julia discovered 30A on a trip to Seaside. She immediately fell in love with the area and insisted that her parents experience 30A. What followed was several semi-annual family vacations on 30A.
It was during a trip in early 2001 that Julia and her family decided to make 30A more permanent. Together Julia, her brother, and her parents purchased a home in Watercolor. What ensued was weekend vacations becoming week long vacations and eventually becoming month long and more until Julia’s parents, Sally and David Smith decided to make the permanent move from Atlanta in 2006. It wasn’t long after that, in 2009, that Julia’s brother, Chris Smith, left Atlanta and accepted a job as a broadcast meteorologist in Panama City. Chris and his wife Mauri reside in Inlet Beach. Julia was able to ‘escape’ Georgia permanently in 2012. She now lives in Seagrove with her two boys, Hank and Gip.
Julia brings a unique skill set to her clients that sets her apart. Drawing from her background as an industrial engineer consulting in computer systems she takes a detail oriented, analytical and functional approach to real estate. Her focus is on her clients and their distinct needs. She draws on her own experiences in real estate to relate to her clients; having purchased both permanent and vacation homes, vacant land, and working through an extensive home remodel. Additionally, she collaborated with her mother on the interior design of the Watercolor home, which was ultimately featured in Southern Living. Julia views real estate as a collaboration of finding the perfect home to fit the lifestyle of her clients and making sure the home fits the way they live.
An avid runner and workout enthusiast, Julia can also be found teaching classes at Pure Barre 30A. Her boys are both actively involved in Panama City Swim Team and South Walton Youth baseball and basketball. They attend the Seaside Chapel.
